Happy 4th of July! We spent the long weekend in Cape May, New Jersey, and I can’t think of a better place to have been for the holiday weekend. Cape May is one of the oldest seaside resorts in the country – some say the oldest – and it is pure and simple Americana.
From the beachside boardwalk, outfitted with arcades and surf shops, to the center of town, filled with quaint b & b’s, pubs and old-fashioned candy stores, this is what you think of when you think of American summer. The residents take their Independence Day seriously here, and everywhere we walked, houses, inns and retailers displayed their American pride with red, white and blue décor.
The was my first time to Cape May, and I’m so glad I visited it over the 4th of July weekend. More posts will follow, but to start things off, in honor of the holiday today, here are some images of Cape May in all its Independence glory!
The famous Congress Hall hotel does not mess around!…
And those are just some images of Cape May during the 4th of July. Look out for posts on the Victorian architecture, Top things to See and Do with kids, and more, coming soon. Enjoy the holiday everyone!
